Survivor Drama & Reality TV

The video below is a tribal council scene from this season's Survivor: Redemption Island which is the 22nd season of Survivor. This tribal council has a lot of drama in it and what's said completely saves my favourite person on the show, Boston Rob. Survivor is apart of reality TV which is a large part of pop culture. Pop Culture is what a large number of people predominately in North America can relate to, enjoy watching and/or talks about on a regular basis.
Reality TV is basicly just us watching people who volunteer to be put into odd situations or types of challenges and us seeing how they react (sort of like a lab experiment only nicer, legal and if you win you win a lot of money), very rarely is it about someone's life. I think reality TV's not usually about someone's life because well, I know my life's not interesting enough that people would want to watch it on TV weekly. Although, there are a few exceptions to this like Laguna Beach, The Hills and The City. So usually reality TV is having people compete while being trapped in a house with strangers for months (Big Brother), stranded on an island with strangers to battle the elements (Survivor), racing around the world with a friend or family member (The Amazing Race) or singing week after week hoping to become a big time singer in the end (American Idol).

I think reality TV is such a huge part of pop culture because it involves regular everyday people and while your watching it you can be like "I would have done" or "Simon's being too harsh" et cetera. Also because you really get to see different people's personalities and your able to sometimes relate to specific people in the show.
